New PTFE O-rings!
We are happy to announce that from now on we can provide you with PTFE (teflon) o-rings!
MATERIAL DESCRIPTION:
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE for short) is a low friction synthetic rubber that has long been used for sealant applications for a variety of substances including gasses, fluids, and chemicals. Although PTFE has lower mechanical properties compared to other plastics, the material’s chemical resistance in tandem with its ability to withstand a wide temperature ranges (-200oC to +260oC) allow PTFE o-rings to provide effective resistance to weathering as well as electrical and thermal insulation.
TEMPERATURE RANGE:
Standard Low Temp: -200°C (-328°F)
Standard High Temp: 260°C (500°F)
STATIC PRESSURE:
40 Mpa (5,800 psi)
BEST PTFE O-Ring applications:
outdoors, lubricants, hydrocarbons, acids, alkalies, detergents, alcohol, ketones, steam, refrigerants
PTFE Mechanical Weaknesses:
high vacuum seals, low compression sealing flanges, super-heated steam
